Use this Study Guide to prepare for the Science test on lesson 8-3. Use your flash cards or vocab lists to study the vocab terms listed on the first page of the Study Guide. Take out the few that aren't listed on the study guide before you start studying. Note that some of the vocab terms show up on the Essay questions.

The cloud types mentioned in the study guide look something like this:

cirrus

Cirrus
- high-altitude clouds that look feather-like

stratus

Stratus - clouds that form in blanket-like layers

Cumulus - clouds that look puffy with a flat bottom

Cumulonimbus - clouds that develop upward, vertically. The nimbus (or nimbo) part of the name means the cloud includes snow or rain that falls from it.
